Three steps
1 · Assess the starting point
Farms complete a structured readiness assessment. Buyers submit their sourcing requirements.
2 · Identify the gaps
Organize missing records, operational questions, and requirements that need clarification.
3 · Coordinate a next step
Request a review, explore a potential sourcing conversation, or discuss a readiness work plan.
Not every submission receives a match or a contract — coordination starts the conversation and clarifies what would need to be true for it to move forward.
The five readiness gates
Food-safety documentation — written plans, training, sanitation, water, and recall procedures.
Volume and aggregation — availability, quantities, order confirmation, and aggregation partners.
Pack-grade traceability — specifications, pack sizes, lot identification, and shipment records.
Cold chain — handling, storage, and transport conditions from harvest to delivery.
Business and invoicing — documentation, insurance, invoices, and purchase-order processes.
Readiness is self-reported.
FARM2CHEF readiness results reflect information submitted by the respondent. They are not an audit, food-safety determination, USDA approval, GAP certification, or buyer acceptance.
