Farm2Chef · For Ranchers

You raise it. Your neighbors pool up to buy it.

The Community Protein Pool groups households by ZIP code until a pool reaches 15–20 families — enough demand for a rancher to sell in bulk. When a pool forms in your service area, we bring you the numbers. You sell directly to the households — you are the seller, at your price, on your terms. Farm2Chef coordinates the pool: the matching, the cut preferences, the scheduling, the communication.

Nothing is committed until you confirm it. You can pass on any pool, for any reason — and pools form when households join, so we can't promise a pool in your area or a date. This form is how you get in line to be asked.

1

Tell us about your ranch

The form below — what you raise, how you sell it, your processor, your capacity. Ten minutes, once.

2

We review and talk

A person reads every submission. If there's a fit, we talk through your operation before anything is listed or promised.

3

A pool forms — you decide

When a pool in your service area reaches its threshold, we bring you the size, the timing, and the pricing basis you gave us. You confirm, adjust, or pass.

4

Agreement, then your first pool

Before the first pool runs, the commercial terms are set in a private rancher agreement between you and us. Then you sell direct to the households in the pool.

Your ranch

Pools launch in Harris County first — if you're beyond it, tell us anyway; your area joins the list as pools expand.

What you raise

For each product: check it if you offer it, tell us how you sell it — inspected retail cuts, or animal shares (whole / half / quarter). The sales model matters: it decides what can be sold, to whom, and how it's labeled, so we ask it plainly for every product.

Processing

This decides which sales models are open to you — inspected product can be sold by the cut; custom-exempt processing is for the animal's owner. If you're not sure, choose "Not set up yet" and we'll talk it through.

Capacity & timing
Your pricing

Your prices are yours. Households see one simple all-in price for their share — the range here is for our matching conversation with you, not a public listing.

Fulfillment
Business readiness

These answers feed the same five readiness gates we use across Farm2Chef — food safety, volume, traceability, cold chain, and business documentation. "In progress" is an honest answer, not a disqualifier; it tells us where support helps.

Anything else

What we never ask for here: no tax ID, no Social Security number, no bank details on this form — ever. Those belong to the private rancher agreement and secure payment setup later, handled directly with you. We never sell or share your information; your answers go to our coordination team and nowhere else.

One Kitchen. One Ecosystem.

Where ranchers fit

The Pool is one door. The same kitchen runs classes, dinners, and a directory that puts your ranch in front of the people already looking for it:

The Protein Pool

How households pool by ZIP, what a pool looks like when it forms, and the survey families take to join.

Farm directory

1,403 farms, searchable by ZIP — the public listing your consent above controls. Nothing shows without a rancher's or farmer's yes.
